HULAHOOP EXCESSIVE WITH CHRIS GOGLER

on the weekend of november 15 & 16, the talented & longtime hooper chris gogler will honor us with his presence!

my good friend chris is traveling from berlin with a backpack full of hoop inspiration!

chris gogler is a hula-hoop artist originally from australia. he has a unique style: a mix of ballet, contemporary dance, object manipulation, and burlesque. on stage, chris tells fantastic and romantic stories through dance and circus, with a charming dose of cheekiness.

an intense and creative weekend awaits you. chris will teach fancy-dancy tricks, chris-styled choreo work, double hoop planetary moments & a fancy multi-hoop shape workshop.

chris teaches in german & english.

the level ranges from intermediate to advanced.

you are very welcome to join the workshop even without prior double/multi hoop experience!

on saturday, you’ll dive deep into single hooping:

Fancy Dancey Elegant Hoop-Tech

There is a sweet spot where dance and trick meet, join me on my continued quest to find it! In this workshop we will look at simple dance elements and how they can be integrated with tricks to elevate your hoop style. We’ll learn some moves, some trick sequences and transitions with a primary focus on finding the balance between an awareness of our bodies, how they dance and the shapes they make and letting the hoop dance around and with us.

Single Hoop Choreography

In this workshop we will learn an original Chris Gogler Hoop choreography!

Coming from a classical dance background Chris has been exploring ways to mix balletic and contemporary dance movements and shapes into his stage performances for years. In this workshop we will learn a (single) Hoop choreography in Chris’ unique style.

on sunday, chris will level you up in double hooping & multi-hoop shapes:

Traveling (Transitioning) through Planets

In this workshop we will look at moves in which two hoops come together to make a planet-like shape. These 3D planet shapes are beautiful and can add an unexpected dimension to your Twin Hoop flow… they’re also really satisfying to play with. We will explore some fun, technical and dynamic ways to use these simple 2 Hoop globes to transition into/from other twin hoop moves.

MULTI HOOP INSPO & SHAPES

In this workshop we will look at a number of Multi-Hoop skills and sequences that are sure to impress audiences but most importantly are a really fun and rewarding learning challenge!

Whether you’re new to playing with more than two Hoops or you’ve already got some experience, this workshop will have something new and challenging for everyone.

In this workshop we will break down moves into easy steps that will help you to nail fancy multi-hoop shapes in your own time.
